Saturday, 22 July

12.30 - 14.00 Lunch: (West-country ploughman's lunch, featuring local cheese and cider) and Postgraduate research posters - G27)
14.00 - 15.50 Talks on current research in the department - G25 (Lecture Theatre)
2.00 pm - 2.10 pm Prof Steve Sparks - Welcome and update
2.10 pm - 2.30 pm Prof Jon Blundy - "The subterranean machinations of explosive volcanoes"
2.30 pm - 2.50 pm Remmert Schouten - "Thecodontosaurus antiquus, an early dinosaur unique to Bristol"
2.50 pm - 3.10 pm Prof Mike Kendall - "Ethiopia- birth of an ocean"
3.10 pm - 3.30 pm Dr Phil Donoghue - "Fossil embryos from China"
3.30 pm - 3.50 pm Prof Colin Prentice - "Quantifying the risks of climate change" -
15.50 - 16.20 Afternoon tea or fruit punch in G26/27
16.20 - 17.30 Tours of the department: Group tours of the teaching and research facilities taking in demonstrations in: GFD lab (Dr Thierry Menand), Palaeo lab. (Remmert Schouten), Seismology (Prof Mike Kendall), and SEM (Dr Neil Gostling).
19.30 Reunion Dinner: Tables were booked for 7.30 pm in a local restaurant (Muset -Clifton -£22.95 for 3 course menu) for those who expressed an interest AND responded to Liz Green's e-mail requesting confirmation (sent late June). The Muset - 16 Clifton Road, Clifton - 0117 973 2920

10.30 - 12.30 Survivors' Stroll: A leisurely geological wander looking at the rocks/ scenery/building stones of the area. Meet outside Wills Memorial Building. (Leader: Dr Brian Hawkins)
